COASTAL MEDITERRANEAN TWIST ON CLASSIC WHITE
For Dream Home 9, we gave the classic coastal palette a warm and luxurious twist, perfect for a coastal Mediterranean house. While cool whites often dominate coastal interiors, we opted for warm tones, inspired by the earthy richness of Mediterranean design. The starting point? The stunning Caesarstone Adamina benchtops—Sarah’s absolute fave! She’d been dying to use them for ages, and they set the tone for the entire home. We paired the Adamina with warm-toned tiles throughout the bathrooms, creating spaces that feel inviting rather than cold. In the kitchen and laundry, we continued the warmth with cabinetry, while some bathrooms feature crisp white cabinets to keep that classic coastal vibe alive. It’s all about balance, and the result is a coastal Mediterranean dream with a touch of timeless luxury.
CRAZY ABOUT CURVES
Curves play a pivotal role in bringing the coastal Mediterranean vibe to life in Dream Home 9. From the gracefully curved kitchen island bench to the elegant rangehood, every curve adds a soft, organic touch to the design. This flow continues through the archway into the lounge and repeats in the doors to the wine room, creating a seamless transition between spaces. We also embraced curves in the bathrooms with arch mirrors and curved vanities, enhancing that Mediterranean charm. For us, once we choose a style for dream homes, it’s all about identifying key features and repeating them throughout to maintain consistency and cohesiveness. This ensures every corner of the home feels thoughtfully designed and perfectly aligned with the overall aesthetic.
TEXTURE & TIMBER
Texture is everything in a coastal Mediterranean house, and we’ve embraced it throughout Dream Home 9 with a mix of natural materials and warm tones. We’ve used various timber laminates across the kitchen, home office, and walk-in wardrobe, as well as on the bathroom shelves and engineered flooring downstairs. Timber is a beautiful feature in both coastal and Mediterranean styles, adding warmth and character to each space.
For even more texture, we chose the gorgeous Wool Carpet in ‘Caribbean Havana’ from Godfrey Hirst, with its warm, beachy tones that feel super soft underfoot—like walking on sand. Flooring is often an overlooked design element, but it’s a necessity in every home, so we made sure we added texture and depth without overwhelming the space. Rather than packing the home with too many features, we let the flooring speak for itself, creating a cohesive coastal Mediterranean feel throughout.

They add a little texture and personality, perfectly complementing the warm colour tones throughout the home.
