PLANNING TIP WHEN BUILDING YOUR HOME 👇

Don’t forget the bulkheads!!!

When you’re building your home, you’re looking at a 2D plan to base all of your decisions on.

But one area that’s commonly missed are the bulkheads because sometimes you can’t see them on a floor plan.

The best place to see your bulkheads will be on your cabinetry plan.

Once you see them here, you’re able to start planning the materials, colour and size of your cabinetry and determine the size of your bulkheads.

Instead of just choosing the benchtop for your kitchen counters…

When choosing your carpet, it’s not as simple as choosing the best design or material.

Here are things you need to consider:

1️⃣ Density
This refers to the amount of pile yarn in the carpet and how close the tufts are to one another. As a rule, the denser, the better. This also ensures your carpet doesn’t thin easily from use.

2️⃣Try before you buy
Lighting and surrounding colours will influence how your carpet look. Take a sample home and check them in different rooms with different lighting.

3️⃣Underlay
Underlay can help your carpet last longer, absorb sound and cover minor bumps and holes. Don’t skip this step!

If you’re building a new home, there’s nothing worse than finishing the build and realising your home has ZERO natural light!

We’re here to make sure you’re designing your home with everything in mind leaving you with no post-build regrets!

Here’s what you need to know 👇

Find North on your plans (remember Never Eat Soggy Weetbix 😉)

NORTH - Sunlight all year round.
EAST - Morning light.
SOUTH - No direct sunlight.
WEST - Afternoon sun.

You can then adjust your window sizes to increase or decrease natural light.
