Our Mediterranean Coastal New Build Vision Board

Say hello to Dream Home 10 – The Seaside Sanctuary! This one’s a little different for us… for the first time ever, we’re designing and building a luxury Mediterranean coastal holiday home from scratch. And because we love a challenge, we’re doing it 500km from home in the breathtaking South West Rocks on the NSW Mid-North Coast. No big deal, right?!

Before we dive into any new build, we love creating a wishlist to guide the design process – and Dream Home 10 is no exception. (You can grab our template here!) It’s the perfect way to get clear on our must-haves vs. nice-to-haves before we start the design process. This was especially crucial for Dream Home 10, because designing a dream holiday home is very different to designing a home for us to live in with kids.

Once that’s locked in, it’s time for the fun part—hunting down all the inspo pics to bring our vision to life! We create a Vision Board before finalizing the floor plan and making selections, and trust us, it’s a total game changer. Having a clear direction from the start helps keep the design cohesive and avoids those costly mid-build changes that can send the budget skyrocketing!

YOUR FIRST LOOK AT DREAM HOME 10

This beauty is all about blending Mediterranean charm with relaxed coastal vibes to create the ultimate luxury escape. It’s our take on Mediterranean coastal style—with an effortless, laid-back Aussie twist.

EXTERIOR INSPO

Here’s a fun little twist for Dream Home 10 – we’re flipping the floor plan! (Yep, you heard that right – stay tuned for more). We’re putting the backyard in the front yard, which means most of the facade will feature a tall retaining wall, giving us the perfect balance of privacy and a touch of mystery. We’re all about that Mediterranean coastal vibe, so we’re mixing warm whites, rustic stone, natural timber, and textured finishes to create a home that feels both elegant and full of charm. Think laid-back luxury with a whole lot of personality!

Our Vision Board is just the start of our New Home Planner, (we share our template for this in Selections Made Simple) where we include our floor plans, elevation plans and more inspo images to keep everything together when it comes time to start making those all important decisions. Here’s more of our Dream Home 10 Mediterranean coastal inspo.

KITCHEN INSPO

The heart of this home is inspired by Mediterranean farmhouse villas—the kind that make you want to linger a little longer over a shared meal. While this is a holiday home, we wanted it to feel warm and inviting, a place where family and friends can gather, cook, and create memories together. Earthy textures, a mix of open shelving and beautifully crafted cabinetry are definitely making their way into our inspo.

BATHROOM INSPO

Dream Home 10 is packing a serious punch with a total of 5 bathrooms – yep, you read that correctly, each bedroom gets its own ensuite, making for 5 luxurious guest suites in this holiday home! We’re all about keeping things cohesive without being too matchy-matchy, so we’ll definitely be letting our creative juices flow as we design 5 stunning ensuites, each with our take on that Mediterranean coastal vibe. Get ready for some serious bathroom goals!

POOL & ALFRESCO INSPO

Here’s the thing: Dream Home 10, like most of our projects, is nestled in amongst other homes. But since this is going to be a boutique holiday home, we want guests to step through the front gates and feel like they’ve entered a true oasis. We’re all about giving that Mediterranean villa vibe from the moment they arrive. And since the pool and alfresco areas are the first things they’ll see, we’re making sure we absolutely nail it. Think stunning, serene, and totally relaxing!

And that’s just the beginning! Dream Home 10 is shaping up to be the ultimate Mediterranean-inspired escape, and we can’t wait to bring it to life. Stay tuned as we share more behind-the-scenes magic—because trust us, this one’s going to be something special
